The Quakertown Police Department
consists of the Chief of Police, two Sergeants, two Corporals, ten Patrolmen, and two support staff. Police protection is provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition to patrolling the Borough, the Department responds to emergencies and accidents. The Police also provide non-emergency services such as assisting drivers locked out of their cars, vacation checks, providing accident reports, and fingerprinting. A copy of an accident report can be obtained for $10. Please call the Police Department for more information.

The Police Department is involved extensively in the community. They work with the school district and other organizations to educate the public about drug and alcohol abuse, personal safety, accident prevention, and bicycle safety and more. To arrange for a member of the police staff to assist your organization, please call Chief Scott McElree at 215-536-5002.

Bicycle Safety
The Quakertown Police Department reminds residents that Pennsylvania law requires all children under the age of 12 to wear an ANSI or SNELL approved helmet when operating or riding as a passenger on a bicycle, tricycle, or other pedacycle. The Quakertown Optimist Club and Police Department join forces to present a bicycle safety rodeo every May at the Quakertown Pool parking lot. For the specific date, please check the calendar of events. It is also against Borough Ordinance to ride skateboards, roller blades, and roller skates on Borough streets. Helmets should be used by bicycle and skateboard riders of all ages to prevent head injuries.

(This is Bucks County Police Dispatch Center). For The Police Administration Office - 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, the number is 215-536-5002.

Parking
in the downtown business district is controlled by parking meters. The first 15 minutes of parking is free, as long as you turn the knob to receive the start of the 15 minutes. If you do receive a parking ticket, it must be paid within five days. You may put a stamp on it and mail it with the amount specified or drop it in the slot at the side door of Borough Hall. Failure to pay a parking ticket will result in a summons being issued by the local District Justice with additional costs imposed.
